This journey has been transformative

I am Joel Chalungama and I want to testify on how the book "Keys to Being Set Free" written by Pete Robertson and coached by Pastor Clement Kunje is helping me. The journey of Natural Discipleship, guided by Pastor Clement Kunje, has profoundly impacted my life and helped me understand the true essence of Christianity.

Through our conversations and the study of this book, my eyes have been opened to the realization that I was trapped in a mindset where I believed God’s pleasure or displeasure depended on my actions. I thought that whenever I did something good, God was pleased, and whenever I did something bad, He was unhappy. This belief led me to follow religious principles, striving to please God through prayer, fasting, and good deeds. However, this approach left me feeling like a failure because I could never fully meet even my expectations.

A significant turning point came when I encountered the scripture: “For God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”(John 3:17) This verse revealed to me that the condemnation I felt when I did wrong was not from God, but from the enemy. I learned that my relationship with God is not based on what I can do to earn His favor, but on what God has already done for me through Jesus Christ. This understanding shifted my perspective and helped me see that God’s love is not conditional on my performance.

Through this journey, I’ve come to understand the true meaning of abundant life. It’s not about external achievements or material possessions, but about cultivating a deep and meaningful relationship with God. I’ve learned the importance of spending quiet time with Him, seeking to grow in my understanding of His love and grace. This relationship is now the foundation of my faith and the source of true fulfillment.

I’ve also realized that religion can often be a distraction, focusing on spiritual achievements and external appearances rather than a genuine relationship with God. The Pharisaic spirit of earning God’s favor through our efforts is a form of hypocrisy. Instead, I’m learning to rest in God’s love and acceptance, free from the burden of performance. This journey has been liberating, and I’m grateful for the growth and understanding I’ve gained.

As I continue on this path, I look forward to exploring further and deepening my relationship with God. I’m excited about the prospect of finishing the book "Keys to Being Set Free" and experiencing even more of the freedom and joy that comes from living in God’s grace. This journey has been transformative, and I’m eager to see how God will continue to work in my life.

Eternally Grateful,

Joel
