Why Does Natural Discipleship provide Sponsored Trips?

We frequently receive requests from sponsors who want to visit their families. We have also received requests from our sponsored families for people to come and visit them. As a result, we naturally want to provide opportunities for our sponsors and sponsored families to meet and do ministry together. Currently, our scheduled trips select only a few families that we visit each year. It could be your family one year and someone else's sponsored family the next, but even if your family isn't the one we're visiting this year, you should still come. That way, you can see how we work while still being a blessing to our family when we visit

SPONSORING YOUR OWN TRIP.

We do not see every sponsor's family every year. Some of these trips are personal, in which the sponsor plans their own trip to the country and we assist in organizing their visit with their family. If you want to go on a personal trip, see the FAQ Can I Make a personal trip. Those who want to visit their families and their country must plan ahead of time! And it is for this reason that we have organized Sponsor Trips.

TRIP COSTS

The trip costs include all operational costs for the trips as well as visits to the team for ongoing trip efforts. These costs are never supplemented by sponsorship funds, but only by trip costs and pricing. We also charge an administration fee to offset the cost of our full-time staff, so that Natural Discipleship can consistently provide world-class, cross-cultural experiences for group travelers without relying on sponsorship funds.

Natural Discipleship has teamed up with Mission Travel Faith Tours, who organizes and handles all of our bookings. You will be assigned to a Natural Discipleship coordinator from their office once you register. Every member of our Mission Travel Tours team is a disciple of Natural Discipleship and is multiplying disciples in their personal ministry.

A Sponsor Trip is typically attended by a group of Natural Discipled sponsors, though all interested guests are welcome. These trip participants will travel on a pre-planned trip led by an experienced trip leader to learn more about the Natural Discipleships program in the countries where we serve. We select a different family to visit on each trip, sometimes we can visit more than one family depending on location of the families.

Included in the trip price is US Trip Leaders, round-trip international airfare (unless you arrange your own airfare) between the US International Airport and the trip destination, lodging, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), travel within the destination country, tips, sponsored family expenses for fun day (venue admission, accommodations, travel, and meals), accompanying staff and translators during the trip, entrance fees, and administrative costs are included in the price of the trip. If you want to book your own airlines, the price of a Land-Only tour does not include international airfare, airport taxes, or ground transportation.

Not included in the trip price: domestic airfare (including checked bag fees), trip interruption or cancelation insurance, lost baggage fees, travel documents (passport/visa fees), immunizations, and incidentals such as souvenirs, snacks, additional beverages, laundry, phone calls, and other personal items. You may want to bring extra spending money.

Natural Discipleship Sponsored trips mainly focus on developing countries located in the 10/40 window. Those countries consist of Africa, Middle East and certain regions in Asia.

You can travel as a solo, family, couple, friends from anywhere in the world. Sponsors typically range from 10-80 depending on health and mobility, younger travelers under 10 are not recommended to travel.

We will put together a multi-day itinerary that has a little bit of everything in it. Every location is different so we custom tailor our trips to our sponsored families living area. Trips will include fun things to do such as local tours, shopping as well as mission work. Most itineraries are 7 to 10 days.

Yes of course! You are welcomed to bring a gift that is meaningful, we recommend filling a back pack.

You will be required to submit general health information during registration so that we can prepare for your trip. If you indicate a health problem on our medical checklist, you will be required to submit a Physician Release Form. Prior to registration, it may be preferable if you contact us to discuss your impairment and limits if you have a disability. Many of our disabled travelers are able to travel, but it is crucial that we fully understand your restrictions so that we can provide appropriate advice and make appropriate arrangements.

We will eat local cuisine during your trip. Because buffets are common, you will often be able to select a more familiar meal. We will accommodate any special diet requests you have (e.g., vegetarian and vegan) as much as possible, but we ask that you please discuss your requests with us when registering for a Sponsor Trip and also with your trip leader when you meet in your destination country.

We typically stay at 3-star hotels but in some cases because there are limited hotels in villages we might visit a lesser hotel which would be are only option. We always make sure our locations are safe and our hotels are in good standing with good reviews. Accommodations are based on double occupancy. If you prefer single accommodations, you may pay a single supplement fee, which is listed on the trip information page.

Natural Discipleship Sponsor Trips can quickly fill up. Sponsors frequently want to register for a trip after it has reached capacity. If this is the case, your name will be added to a waiting list. If a space becomes available later, we will call you in the order in which people registered. Depending on how many people are interested in traveling, we may add another sponsored trip to which you may wish to participate.

We can organize private trips based on the number of people traveling and the availability of our trip guides and families. These trips are slightly more expensive, but we can make arrangements if you have 6 or more people traveling. We organize a multi-day mission trip for your family to join the work of your sponsor family. You can participate or simply observe. Every trip is tailored to your preferences, and we can also arrange extension tours to other locations. Contact our representative at Mission Travel Faith Tours to help assist you or answer any questions at 407-377-7912 8am – 5pm EST M-F.

Yes, we highly encourage it. We recommend in all Deposit and Final Confirmation Packages travel insurance that offers you options to cover baggage, accident/ life, and/or trip cancellation. Trip cancellation insurance reimburses you for non-refundable air and land costs if you have to cancel a trip due to personal or family illness or accident. The insurance that we recommend also provides coverage for all pre-existing conditions if you complete your insurance form and postmark it within seven calendar days of our receipt of your deposit. We highly recommend that you obtain this insurance.

We suggest Travel Guard International; there are two ways to purchase your insurance from Travel Guard. The fastest and easiest way is to purchase your insurance on-line by clicking the Travel Guard link after you have completed your reservation with Mission Travel Tours.
