MOVEMENT OF MULTIPLYING DISCIPLES BEGINNINGS

God called two brothers who realized they needed a curriculum to help them make more disciples, and this is how Natural Discipleship got started. In 2004 Steve Harris was pastoring New Life Community Church in Asheville, NC, he became convinced they needed to implement an evangelism and discipleship process that was sequential, relational and conversational. He searched and searched and could not find what he was looking for. He said, necessity is the mother of invention, so he sensed a calling to write the curriculum for Natural Discipleship. Natural Discipleship is an easy-to-use process to lead our friends to Christ and to disciple them to also become multiplying followers of Christ. And yes, it is sequential, relational and conversational. Instead of a monologue, Natural Discipleship is a dialogue. Instead of a presentation, it is a conversation by using thought provoking discussion questions.

As a young man, Geoffrey Harris was challenged to develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. He and his wife, Barbara, accepted the challenge by leaving their full-time vocations to join an International ministry. His life was so blessed by this decision that he grew to experience God's love for people around the world and begin his own non-profit Discipleship ministry. As this ministry grew he dedicated himself to making disciples of Jesus globally. In his senior years, this path has led him to build a Disciple Making Movement and train leaders in the Philippines, Pakistan, and more than 27 African Nations by using Social Media, Texting, and Zoom Video Technology.

Geoffrey’s greatest ambition is to help fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. God is making that dream, for him, a reality, as he continues to serve with Natural Discipleship and the Board of Directors of Be Mission Minded Foundation.

OUR STRATEGIC VISION

The strategic vision of Be Mission Minded/ Natural Discipleship is to partner with likeminded people and local churches to love intimately and make multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ. We meet needs while training trainers globally to cultivate new communities of Jesus among all peoples, with an emphasis on the least reached in the 10/40 window. The biblical and theological foundations of our vision is rooted in obedience to Jesus and the imitation of the apostles multiplying themselves.

Our vision is a “prayer” vision, because of the command of Jesus: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field” (Lk. 10:2). Our vision is a “strategic” vision, because both Jesus and His apostles practiced intentional leadership development and mobilization as the driving force behind the furtherance of the kingdom of God in the world through the propagation of the gospel (Matt. 4:19; 2 Tim. 2:2...)
